INDIVIDUAL

The furniture that I wish to design is a nature inspired gravity chair for van travelers above 15 years old. This furniture is a ready-to-assemble and flat pack which allows the users able to bring it no matter where they go. At it can be stored easily as well.. Besides, this furniture actually uses different various of shapes of flat packs to form from pieces into one whole thing. users are able to enjoy the fun during the process of assemble and desemble. moreover, this chair is heavy since the stability and durability are the most crucial facts to be considered. I will use nature materials from any sustainable source to make this furniture. Last, this furniture will be manufactured in one off with minimal waste produce during the manufacturing process.

PRECEDENT STUDIES

Basically, I am taking grasshopper (Famantis) as part of my inspiration to design this gravity chair. The reason for why I would pick grasshopper as part of my inspiration is because the personality of grasshopper can be reflected to the way we see various things in our life. Well, based on research, the existing of grasshopper is actually representing the sign of luck all over the world. In better explanation, grasshopper can only jump forward and not backwards or sideways, and when it shows up it could be reaffirming to you that you are taking the right steps to move forward in the current situation. Besides, when we are being asked about life, it remind us to take a leap of faith and jump forward into specific area of life without fear. Which applies to the relationship of good sign of grasshopper that letting us to keep moving forward and trust yourself. These sign of luck is actually reflecting to the way of grasshopper usually hopes. It can be applied to the design structure of the gravity chair as well.
